Klarol TAN (Total Acid Number) reducing machine using ion exchange technology works by exchanging the acidic impurities present in the phosphate esters with less acidic ions. In the case of electro hydraulic control systems in steam turbines, the phosphate esters are typically contaminated with acidic compounds such as water and various organic acids. The ion exchange resin, typically a strong base anion exchange resin, attracts and binds to the acidic impurities, effectively removing them from the phosphate ester. This results in a decrease in the TAN of the phosphate ester, allowing it to function more effectively and efficiently in the electro hydraulic control system.

Klarol EHC Fluid Filtration System is fitted with a large surface area 149 microns washable filter for taking out bigger sized particles and to protect the machine gear pump from damage due to oil contamination. This filter also has a powerful magnet to catch smaller size particles.

 

Klarol machine can cleans oil  600 litres per hour down to 10 microns {Nominal + Absolute} by surface filters. Continuous cycling of the oil through Klarol depth filters can remove soft contamination like SLUDGE, VARNISH and other solid particles down to 0.01 microns by the process of Adsorption. Only insoluble particles are removed. Additives being soluble are not removed by this machine. Continuous oil cleaning by Klarol can ensure oil cleanliness level of NAS 4/5 in the hydraulic power-pack.

 

Klarol EHC Fluid Filtration System can be used with either two Klarol fibre glass filters or cellulose filters. If there is some moisture in the oil the fibre glass filters can be interchanged with cellulose filters which can absorb 1 to 2 litres of water before they have to be replaced.
